Follow the rabbit
The little grey labels.
You may have clicked one, or followed a rabbit, or come in from the line at the top of the page. Either way they were doing a job: every picture here says whether it is a photograph or a design, and every figure says how much weight it can carry. This is that vocabulary in one place, because a reader who does not know what a label means is entitled to assume the worst.
Both of these look like photographs. One of them is.
01On pictures
The mine water is a render. The cabinets were photographed at the Cube, and the chip on each frame said so before you scrolled past.

Our renders are photorealistic. That is a problem worth solving in the caption, so every frame carries one of these and none of them is decoration.
- PHOTOGRAPHA camera was there. Real ground, real plant, real people.
- CONCEPTA render. It shows a design decision that has been taken, not a building that has been built.
- EXISTINGA photograph of something that stands today, used where the point is that it already exists.
- AS IT STANDSThe German term for existing fabric, kept untranslated on the Quedlinburg drawings because that is what the documents say.

Every published number carries one of these and the month it was set. They are not interchangeable, and a figure quoted without its status is a figure misquoted.

Every status is printed with the month it was set – Stand: 08/2026. A figure with no date is a figure nobody has checked recently, which is why none appears here without one.
Why go to the trouble.
Because the alternative is a brochure. Any data centre can print a megawatt figure; the question a serious reader has is whether that megawatt is contracted, applied for, or hoped for, and those three are printed identically everywhere else.
It also constrains us more than it constrains you. A figure held at DESIGN BASIS cannot quietly become a fact by being repeated, because it is stored in one register with its status attached, and that register renders this website and the PDFs at the same time. When a status moves, it moves in one place and every page moves with it.
